Azeez Adeshina Fashola (born 10 May 1991), known professionally as Naira Marley, is a British-Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is recognized as the president of his controversial fan base, “Marlians”. Career
2014–2018: Career Beginnings
- Initially aspired to become an MC and a voice-over artist.
- Began his music career in 2014 after discovering his passion for it.
- Released the track “Marry Juana” in collaboration with Max Twigz.
- Launched his debut EP titled “Gotta Dance” in 2014.
- In December 2017, he released “Issa Goal”, featuring Olamide and Lil Kesh, which became the theme song for the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
- His music is a fusion of Afrobeats and hip-hop.
- Adopted the stage name “Naira Marley” as a tribute to Jamaican singer Bob Marley.

- Released the track “Am I A Yahoo Boy” in May 2019, leading to his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
- Launched “Soapy” in June 2019, shortly after his release from prison.
