- Abuah was born on January 18, 2000, as the last born of five boys in his family. Although he has no interesting birth story to share, his parents were hoping for a girl as their last child, having all boys before him. Abuah grew up with a passion for football, which he pursued until a sudden twist in leadership during his Junior High School (JHS) 3 year, where he witnessed challenging encounters and the need for leadership to drive change.
- Abuah had a smooth childhood, learning values of love, humility, respect, confidence, and courage through strict parental care from his father, who he considers the most influential person in his life. He attended Tarkwa-University Basic School (Creche), Bibiani-Ashanti Gold Bibiani Limited (AGBL) school (KG-JHS2), TAKORADI-Woodbridge International School (only JHS 3, first-ever student to be accepted in JHS3 as a new entrant), and Cape coast-St. Augustine’s college (Cape coast) for his Senior High School (SHS) education.
- Abuah continued his education at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), where he studied environmental science. As a student, Abuah was free and easy-going, academically smart, and participated in school clubs and student body government. He was supported by his parents throughout his educational journey and admired Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for their passion, knowledge, and patriotism.
Career
- Abuah’s career as an environmental scientist started accidentally. However, his desire to be at par with his elder brothers in all fields, his love for servitude and politics, and his experiences as a student leader played a significant role in shaping his path. He started his career in SHS, Augusco, where he served as the first protocol prefect to win prefect of the year award, and invested in the biggest welfare package for needy students consecutively as SCISA and SRC president. He continued his leadership roles at KNUST, where he served as the deputy Public Relations Officer of his student association.
- Abuah’s greatest accomplishment was winning the prefect of the year award at St. Augustine’s College and investing in the biggest welfare package for ne edy students consecutively as SCISA and SRC president. He is widely known in KNUST for his starling performance as SCISA president that won the college ‘The College Year Award , his strong drive for the passage of Entrepreneurship support fund to support student businesses, his strong advocacy and contribution to support the 6,000 needy students who were on the verge of deferral and subsequent review of the deferral policy during his tenure as SRC President.
CONTROVERSIES
However, he faced a very challenging time in the final term as SRC President, when he was asked to step aside by the university for investigation of misappropriation of funds and subsequently cleared and exonerated of all charges. During this biggest turn in his path, Michael was highly praised for his openness to accountability and scrutiny and lived true to his mantra FAITH TO FINISH as he overcame the challenges of the time.
Personal Life
- Abuah comes from a Wassa and Fantse background and has no children. He learned that family is everything through his happy, funny, and sad lessons. His joyous moments are moments with his family, and his sad moment was losing his uncle Msgnr. Francis Abuah Quansah a week before his election as SCISA president and not being able to attend the funeral. Abuah’s breakthrough moments include his humility, his forceful character,strong advocacy and leadership roles.
